Plaster, polished by hand
Venetian plaster is applied in several whisper‑thin coats with a steel trowel, then compressed and burnished to a soft sheen. The surface has a mineral depth that paint alone cannot reach — it catches sidelight beautifully and feels cool and solid under the hand.
I seal every wall with a natural wax rather than a plastic‑smelling sealer, so the finish stays breathable, low‑odour and easy to live with. One feature wall is often enough to change a whole room.
